Concluded at Urja Auditorium, Patna with 10,000+ participants and global delegates; CM Samrat Choudhary announced the upcoming Bihar AI Policy 2026.

❖ AI-Based Cyber Helpline 1930:

Bihar will launch India’s first AI-powered Cyber Helpline Call Centre to speed up complaint registration and improve response in cyber fraud cases.

❖ Bihar Blackout Mock Drill:

Bihar conducted a 15-minute civil defence blackout drill on 14 May 2026 (7:00–7:15 PM) across 6 strategic districts—Patna, Begusarai, Kishanganj, Purnia, Araria, and Katihar—to test air-raid and emergency response readiness.

❖ The Wild Call:

a 12-minute immersive wildlife film by Rajgir Zoo Safari (Nalanda), won the Best Animation Film Award at the 16th Dadasaheb Phalke Film Festival; produced by the Department of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Bihar, directed by Naveendh S. Fareed and Azharuddin Sulaiman.

❖ Census 2027 Self-Enumeration:

Bihar recorded 46.82 lakh completed self-enumerations (17 Apr–1 May 2026), with Madhubani ranking 1st (6.06 lakh), followed by Vaishali (5.86 lakh) and Darbhanga (4.95 lakh).

❖ Lok Sevak Awas:

Bihar’s CM residence at 1 Aney Marg, Patna was renamed “Lok Sevak Awas”, highlighting a public service-oriented approach; earlier, Raj Bhavan (Governor’s house) had been renamed “Lok Bhavan.”

❖ World Yogasana Sports Championship 2026:

Five Bihar players- Sudhanshu Shekhar, Dilip Kumar, Saransh Kumar, Soni Kumari and Sakshi Kumari, selected for the Indian team for the World Yogasana Sports Championship 2026, to be held in Ahmedabad from 4-8 June 2026.

❖ India’s 1st Waterfall Census by Bihar:

53 natural waterfalls identified across 5 districts; Rohtas ranked 1st with the highest number (29), followed by Munger (16), Jamui (4), Kaimur (3), and Nawada (1).

❖ Bihar Greenfield Satellite Townships:

Bihar will develop 11 Greenfield Satellite Townships- Pataliputra (Patna), Hariharnathpur (Sonepur), Magadh (Gaya), Mithila (Darbhanga), Kosi (Saharsa), Purnia (Purnia), Ang (Munger), Sitapuram (Sitamarhi), Vikramshila (Bhagalpur), Tirhut (Muzaffarpur), and Saran (Chapra)—to promote planned urban development and regional growth.

❖ CISF Regional Training Centre:

will be established at Pothia, Kishanganj, on 110 acres of land, with capacity to train 1,000 CISF personnel, strengthening security infrastructure and creating local employment opportunities.

❖ Bihar’s First Nuclear Power Plant:

To be established at Shambhuganj, Banka with two 700 MW units (1,400 MW total) by NPCIL and NTPC, utilizing a dedicated water pipeline from the Ganga River in Bhagalpur.

❖ Gaya–Bangkok Direct Flight:

The Bihar government approved a bi-weekly direct flight service between Gaya and Bangkok, to be operated by IndiGo, to boost international Buddhist tourism.

❖ India’s First Model Heat Action Plant:

Developed for Patna district by UNDP India and IPE Global, introducing a digital Decision Support System (DSS) and micro-mapping tools to combat rising urban heatwave risks.

❖ Patna Water Metro Launch:

Bihar’s first electric-hybrid water metro to start on a 10.5 km Ganga stretch between Digha Ghat and Kangan Ghat, utilizing the ₹12-crore vessel MV Gomdhar Kunwar.

❖ Bihar’s First NIFTEM Campus:

Bihar cabinet approved 100 acres at Hajipur, Vaishali for India’s third National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM) to boost agro-processing education.

A ₹97.17 crore private dairy processing facility approved at Bihta Industrial Cluster.

❖ Bihar ITI Upgradation under PM-SETU:

CM Samrat Choudhary approved the complete modernization of 75 Government ITIs into state-of-the-art tech hubs to train 70,000 youth in AI, semiconductors, and advanced logistics between 2026 and 2030.

• PM-SETU Scheme:

A ₹60,000cr.scheme backed by the World Bank and ADB to upgrade 1,000 Government ITIs using a Hub-and-Spoke model; Launched by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) on October, 2025.

❖ Mithila Painting Exhibition:

Bihar Museum hosted a special 60-year retrospective exhibition titled “From Courtyard to Museum: A Journey of Sixty Years” (9 May–8 June 2026) showcasing works by 56 master artists, including iconic Padma Shri awardees.

❖ Bihar Vigilance Cadre Merger:

Bihar Cabinet approved the merger of the Bihar Vigilance Investigation Cadre with the Bihar Police, the Bihar Police Act, 2007 to streamline administrative operations.

❖ Dr. Jaya Bharti:

Patna-born scientist Dr. Jaya Bharti (University of Potsdam) won Germany’s €20,000 Brandenburg Postdoc Prize 2026 (Natural Sciences & Engineering) for her research on energy-efficient, green synthesis of Hydrogen Peroxide.

❖ Mega Cement Grinding Plants:

Bihar’s SIPB approved mega cement grinding plants in Muzaffarpur (Mahwal Industrial Area) and Kishanganj (Thakurganj).

❖ Bihar’s First Elephant Corridor:

The Jamui-Jhajha-Chakayi forest stretch (spanning the Garhi, Charkapathar, Batiya, and Madhwa beats) has been officially designated as Bihar’s first natural elephant corridor, establishing a 46-km protected passage to manage seasonal migrations from Jharkhand.

❖ Justice Meenakshi M. Rai:

The Supreme Court Collegium recommended Justice Meenakshi M. Rai as the 48th Chief Justice of the Patna High Court, succeeding Justice Sangam Kumar Sahoo upon his retirement on 4 June 2026; only the 2nd woman to hold the office of Chief Justice at the Patna High Court, following Justice Rekha Manharlal Doshit (2010 to 2014).

❖ PEB Fabrication Unit:

Bihar approved a Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) Fabrication Unit by Experia Prefaxo Pvt. Ltd. at Bariyarpur Industrial Area, Muzaffarpur.

❖ NIT Patna RCIKT Center (2026):

NIT Patna has established a Research Centre on Indian Knowledge Tradition (RCIKT) under the MoE’s IKS division to run interdisciplinary research on ancient Indian metallurgy, mathematics, and sustainable architecture.

❖ Brand Bihar:

A Bihar government initiative led by Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit to strengthen the state’s identity, enhance its public image, and promote Bihar as a hub for investment, innovation, and opportunities.

❖ Maithili in CBSE Curriculum:
